Erika Jayne says she was joking about PK, Dorit Kemsley breakup

Image
Erika Jayne is backtracking on her comments about Dorit and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s marriage. After PK shaded Jayne on Instagram for claiming his marriage was on the rocks, the “Pretty Mess” singer commented on his post claiming it was all in good fun. “When did you get so sensitive? You know damn well I was joking..” the reality star wrote. Erika Jayne claims she was joking about friends PK and Dorit Kemsley’s potential split. Instagram/theprettymess Over the weekend, Jayne predicted her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars would be the next Bravolebrities to divorce during a panel at BravoCon. After being asked which relationship was headed to “Splitsville,” the 51-year-old initially dodged the question, saying she felt “bad.” However, she quickly changed her tune and marched to centerstage before revealing “Dorit and PK.” PK and Dorit have both spoken out about Jayne’s comments. Yankees were just start of Cristian Javier's run of domination

Image
PHILADELPHIA — The Yankees can take solace. It wasn’t just them. Cristian Javier does not discriminate. At some point in 2022, he basically stopped giving up hits, and it wasn’t just against Aaron Judge and Co. Javier has a fastball that hardly awes with its velocity. But it is illustrious because it is an illusion. He slings it from a low three-quarters arm slot with lots of backspin, giving the optical illusion that it is rising simply because it is not descending as other fastballs do. The Phillies actually had been strong against fastballs up in the zone this season. Not this version. You can’t hit what you can’t see. And the Phillies of Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber were as helpless as the Yankees of Judge and Anthony Rizzo. The Phillies, in fact, went from in control of this World Series and supported by a joyous home crowd to being on the wrong end of history and being booed. During Game 4. Of the World Series. Th...

Mainstream media gives GOP 87% negative press in midterm run-up: study

Image
Republican candidates are facing substantially more scrutiny in the mainstream media than Democrats leading up to the midterm elections, with news outlets airing negative coverage of the GOPers 87% of the time, a new study found. Democrats, meanwhile, were on the receiving end of bad press 67% of the time, according to the study conducted by the conservative Media Research Center . The study of ABC, CBS and NBC’s nightly newscasts also found that President Biden is drawing far less criticism in 2022 than former President Donald Trump did during the 2018 midterm elections.  Trump accounted for 48% of all midterm campaign airtime on nightly newscasts in 2018, more than all the congressional and gubernatorial candidates combined, and it was mostly negative, according to MRC.  Herschel Walker hasn’t made many fans in the media while on the campaign trail for the Georgia Senate seat against Raphael Warnock. George Will pleads with Dems not to run 'past his prime' Biden, 'unqualified' Harris in '24

Image
Venerable columnist George Will begged Democrats Wednesday not to allow President Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris to seek the White House in 2024, warning that nominating either would “insult and imperil the nation.” “Biden is not just past his prime; even adequacy is in his past,” Will wrote in the Washington Post. The 81-year-old Will, a longtime Republican who left the party in 2016 after Donald Trump won its presidential nomination, voted for Biden in 2020, and describes himself as “unaffiliated,” said the president’s false statement last month that the student loan forgiveness plan was passed by Congress marked a breaking point. “Meeting recently with some progressive activists, Biden said his $426 billion student loan forgiveness was accomplished by ’a law’ that he had ’just signed’: ’I got it passed by a vote or two.’ No. He. Did. Not,” Will wrote in the column. ”Biden was not merely again embellishing his ach...

Oregon families find razor blades in Halloween candy: police

Image
At least three Oregon families found a nasty trick inside their children’s Halloween treat bags. Small razor blades were found hidden inside Halloween candy given to kids within a 5-block stretch in the city of Eugene: from Tyler Street to Friendly Street between West 24th and West 27th Avenues, police said in a statement. “The razor appears to be something similar to a pencil sharpener blade,” the department said. The first family to report the small blade had checked their child’s candy before letting the treater dig in, a practice the Eugene Police Department had encouraged parents to practice prior to the holiday. One father who took his kids trick-or-treating on Friendly Street told KEZI 9 News that he plans on buying back his children’s candy rather than take a chance on finding one of the blades. “I feel disturbed. I wish we were in a different place,” David Lord said.  Other city residents told the outlet the number of trick...

Republicans rip Biden's 'divisive' democracy speech

Image
President Biden’s Wednesday night speech was met with derision by a number of prominent Republicans, with some calling it the “most divisive” address ever given by a commander-in-chief. Others GOPers suggested Biden’s remarks, where he slammed “extreme MAGA Republicans” and urged Americans to vote for Democrats in the Nov. 8 midterm elections in order to “preserve democracy,” were an attempt to deflect from the administration’s failed policies.  “I listened to the president’s speech, I don’t remember hearing anything about inflation, about gas, about border, about fentanyl, about crime, or not even the 98 individuals on the border on the terrorist watchlist they have caught,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Fox News’s Sean Hannity on Wednesday.  “President Biden is trying to divide and deflect at a time when America needs to unite — because he can’t talk about his policies that have driven up the cost of living,” McCarthy wrote...

Why men's and women's shirt buttons on different sides

Image
Not all shirts are created equal. People are just realizing that women’s shirt buttons are on the left side, while men’s are on the right — with many questioning these details. “I *just* found out that shirt buttons are on the left for women and right for me. Wtf!!!!” one Twitter user exclaimed . “I was today years old when I learned that women’s shirts have buttons on the left side!” wrote another. So what gives? There are a few theories that date back ages. One goes that wealthy women didn’t dress themselves — they had servants do it for them. Assuming that most people are right-handed, the buttons on women’s clothes were sewn so that someone else could fasten them. Australian actress Erica Hoy dead after fatal car crash

Image
The woman allegedly behind the wheel of a car that caused a crash that killed a young woman and seriously injured three other people, including her twin, has been pictured. Carlie Eileen Richards, 38, on Wednesday was subject to a bedside hearing from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide following the fatal crash on the Port River Expressway in Gillman Tuesday evening. Richards was deemed too mentally unwell to attend court in person, and according to  The Advertiser , did not speak during the hearing. Magistrate Paul Bennett was asked by her duty solicitor, Tyson Leung, for Richards to be detained under section 269x of the criminal law act, the publication reported. The form was typically requested in cases where a defendant’s mental competence was in question. Mr Leung told the court it was likely the order would pre-empt a bail applicati...

Giant Christmas ornaments wrecks havoc on London street

Image
These holiday decorators really got the ball rolling with an early display. A larger-than-life Christmas set-up was transformed into a dangerous game of dodgeball when heavy winds dislodged giant baubles, sending them tumbling down a London street. A video posted to TikTok and obtained by the Telegraph shows the massive silver balls rolling and bouncing down Tottenham Court Road early Monday morning as smaller cars dodge the enormous spheres. The first ball rolls across the street and smacks into a post, sending it airborne down the road after shedding a shiny silver coating. A second silver ball somersaults down the street behind the first one in a scene that elicits a giant-sized pinball machine. A video from another angle shows the balls rolling into one another. The wild episode came as the Met Office issued a strong wind warning across parts of the United Kingdom. The country was battered by Storm Claudio with winds howling...

New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc victim of attempted assault before debate

Image
Republican New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc dodged a punch from a would-be assailant before stepping onstage to debate Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) on Wednesday,  according to reports.  Bolduc, 60, a retired Army brigadier general, was apparently unharmed, and the individual who attempted to assault the Senate candidate was arrested, according to his campaign.  “As the General said on stage tonight, it’s time to lower the temperature of the political discourse in this country. Prior to the debate, an individual in the crowd gathered outside attempted to punch the General and was quickly apprehended and arrested,” a Bolduc campaign spokesperson told Boston 25 News.  “We are grateful to the quick response from law enforcement on the scene,” the spokesperson added.  The Post has reached out to the Bolduc campaign and New Hampshire’s Goffstown Police Department for comment. Incumbent Senator Maggie Hassan leads Bolduc by slim margins ...

Donald Trump files another lawsuit against NY AG Letitia James

Image
Former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James in Florida on Wednesday, accusing her of abusing her position to wage a “war of intimidation and harassment” against him. The 41-page lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County, where Trump lives, accuses James of breaking the law in Florida and New York in her investigation into the former president’s business dealings, which he claims was politically motivated ahead of the 2022 midterm elections. “What began as a cartoonish, thinly-veiled effort to publicly malign President Trump for personal political gain has morphed into a plot to obtain control of a global private enterprise ultimately owned by a Florida revocable trust in which President Trump is the settlor,” Trump’s attorneys wrote in Wednesday’s lawsuit . James sued Trump, his kids Eric, Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr., and the Trump Organization for $250 million in September, alleging “staggering” fraud ...

Hurricane Lisa makes landfall along Central America coast as a Category 1 storm

Image
Lisa intensified into a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds around 85 mph before making landfall Wednesday near Belize City. Life-threatening storm surge, damaging winds and flash flooding will all be significant threats as Lisa moves inland across Belize, northern Guatemala and southeastern Mexico over the next couple of days. Lisa is the first hurricane to landfall in Belize during the month of November since 1942. Where is Tropical Cyclone Lisa? As of late Wednesday, Lisa was centered near Belize and was slowly making its way westward. Due to the terrain and land interaction, Lisa continues to slowly degrade and is no longer a strong Category 1 hurricane. What is the forecast for Lisa? The FOX Forecast Center expects that Lisa will continue to weaken as it tracks westward across Central America. This path means it will cross northern Guatemala and move into southeastern Mexico by Thursday. A map displays the projected path and...

Jets' defense faces big test vs. Bills and Josh Allen

Image
The Jets have not beaten the Bills since the season finale in 2019. Buffalo has outscored them 117-54 in the past four games. The Jets lost 45-17 and 27-10 in head-to-head battles last year. The gap between the two teams never felt wider than after that final game last season, when the Jets’ season ended and the Bills prepared for a playoff run. Now, they meet again. “Probably the most complete football team we’ll see all season,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said. Yes, the 6-1 Bills might be the best team in football. If they are not the best, they are in the top three. Sunday’s game is a measuring stick to see how much the Jets have closed the gap with the current kings of the AFC East. It is a test for the defense in particular. The Jets have made huge leaps on that side of the ball this year. After ranking dead last a season ago, they enter this one sixth in yards against, averaging 311.4 yards allowed. Josh Allen will be a big test f...

My husband has cerebral palsy, everyone thinks he's drunk

Image
DEAR ABBY: My husband has cerebral palsy. He can talk, but his speech is slightly slurred. He can walk, but he’s unsteady on his feet. We love to go out and have a few drinks, but the issue is that people think he is intoxicated. We have been thrown out of places. We were almost thrown out of a ride-share service until I told the driver he has a disability. We were at a concert going up the steps (I was holding beers), and everyone stared at him thinking he was drunk. Do you have any advice (short of putting up a sign that he is disabled)? — SOCIAL SPOUSE DEAR SPOUSE: Your husband should not have to display a sign. When you go to a bar or a restaurant, inform the manager or the bartender as soon as you enter that your husband has a disability that affects his balance. While it won’t work in large crowds such as at a concert, it should save you and your husband from any misunderstandings in smaller venues. DEAR ABBY: I ...

Jill Biden, Bruce Springsteen among celebrities at Game 4 in Philadelphia

Image
Philly fanatic Jill Biden attended Game 4 of the World Series in Philadelphia, one of several famous faces in the crowd on Wednesday. In the middle of the fifth inning, The First Lady took part in the Stand Up To Cancer tribute, where each person at Citizens Bank Park held a placard in honor of a loved one they “stand up for.” She held signs honoring her son Beau, who died in 2015, and Corey Pheland, a Phillies minor league prospect who died last month following a battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. President Biden, while campaigning in Florida, joked Tuesday that “Phillies fans are the most virulent, obnoxious fans in the world.” Celebrities also came out for the big game, a 5-0 Astros win to even the Fall Classic at two games apiece. “Streets of Philadelphia” singer Bruce Springsteen at Game 4 of the 2022 World Series in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
