Erika Jayne says she was joking about PK, Dorit Kemsley breakup

Image
Erika Jayne is backtracking on her comments about Dorit and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s marriage. After PK shaded Jayne on Instagram for claiming his marriage was on the rocks, the “Pretty Mess” singer commented on his post claiming it was all in good fun. “When did you get so sensitive? You know damn well I was joking..” the reality star wrote. Erika Jayne claims she was joking about friends PK and Dorit Kemsley’s potential split. Instagram/theprettymess Over the weekend, Jayne predicted her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars would be the next Bravolebrities to divorce during a panel at BravoCon. After being asked which relationship was headed to “Splitsville,” the 51-year-old initially dodged the question, saying she felt “bad.” However, she quickly changed her tune and marched to centerstage before revealing “Dorit and PK.” PK and Dorit have both spoken out about Jayne’s comments. Jets' defense faces big test vs. Bills and Josh Allen

Image
The Jets have not beaten the Bills since the season finale in 2019. Buffalo has outscored them 117-54 in the past four games. The Jets lost 45-17 and 27-10 in head-to-head battles last year. The gap between the two teams never felt wider than after that final game last season, when the Jets’ season ended and the Bills prepared for a playoff run. Now, they meet again. “Probably the most complete football team we’ll see all season,” Jets coach Robert Saleh said. Yes, the 6-1 Bills might be the best team in football. If they are not the best, they are in the top three. Sunday’s game is a measuring stick to see how much the Jets have closed the gap with the current kings of the AFC East. It is a test for the defense in particular. The Jets have made huge leaps on that side of the ball this year. After ranking dead last a season ago, they enter this one sixth in yards against, averaging 311.4 yards allowed. Josh Allen will be a big test f...

Dolphins' Xavien Howard files motion to dismiss STD lawsuit

Image
Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard filed a motion on Friday to dismiss a complaint by an unnamed woman alleging that he knowingly and negligently gave her a sexually transmitted disease. Through his attorney, Alan Mensa-Wilmot, Howard called it “the epitome of a shakedown,” according to ESPN , which reported that Howard’s motion was filed two days after the plaintiff filed their complaint against him in Broward County on Oct. 26. The plaintiff alleges Howard knowingly gave her an STD during the course of a multi-year sexual relationship. The woman is demanding a trial by jury and is suing Howard for damages in excess of $30,000, according to the lawsuit. Howard’s motion reportedly includes a number of screenshots showing alleged text messages from the plaintiff, listed as Jane Doe, which “make it abundantly clear that Plaintiff is nothing more than a scorned ex-lover” seeking a financial gain. In the motion, Howard alleges that the plai...

Brandin Cooks out for Texans vs. Eagles after not getting traded

Image
Brandin Cooks was not moved at the NFL trade deadline, but that does not mean he is still playing for the Texans. The ninth-year wide receiver will not play against the Eagles on Thursday night, according to multiple reports, after he seemed displeased he was not shipped out before Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. Cooks missed practice this week for what the team called “personal reasons” after expecting to be traded, and then following up the non-trade with apparent frustration on Twitter. “Don’t take a man’s kindness for granted,” Cooks, who has caught 32 passes for 354 yards in seven games this season, tweeted. “Covered for the lies for too long those days are done. Crossed the line with playing with my career.” The 29-year-old, who had played with the Saints, Patriots and Rams before Houston, reportedly hoped to be dealt to a contender, which the 1-5-1 Texans are not. Houston reportedly discussed potential trades, including with the Cowboys, but ...

Jets' Elijah Moore dodges media on consecutive days

Image
For the second consecutive day, Jets disgruntled receiver Elijah Moore told reporters in the locker room that he would be back to speak after doing some stretching (Wednesday) or lifting (Thursday) and never returned to talk.  This is relevant because the NFL trade deadline passed on Tuesday without the Jets dealing Moore, who had requested a trade.  Moore played sparingly in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots and, when asked after the game what his chemistry with quarterback Zach Wilson was like, he said he had no idea because Wilson doesn’t throw him the ball.  In the wake of this baggage, Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur on Thursday was asked if he’s “confident’’ that Moore is “in the right mind space’’ entering Sunday’s game against the Bills.  “Yeah, I am,’’ LaFleur said. “I feel really — you’d have to ask him that — but I’ve really liked his approach and I think that he’s in a great mindset to go help this team win football games.”  ...

Jets' remade secondary to get toughest test yet against Bills

Image
They came from Seattle, Tampa Bay, the University of Cincinnati and the brink of retirement to join together for games like this one.  The Jets secondary was remade in the offseason with the idea that the defense could “coverage you to death,” as head coach Robert Saleh put it. If the offseason free-agent additions of cornerback D.J. Reed from the Seahawks and safety Jordan Whitehead from the Buccaneers, the first-round drafting of Sauce Gardner and the re-signing of veteran safety Lamarcus Joyner weren’t done specifically with two division games per year against the Bills in mind, it certainly doesn’t hurt that the Jets can go strength-on-strength Sunday with an assassin.  MVP frontrunner Josh Allen quarterbacks the NFL’s leading passing offense (307.7 yards per game) with seven different weapons accounting for 19 touchdowns catches.  “It’s going to be a challenge,” Saleh said, “but, at the same time, a challenge that we think we’re up for.” ...

How Chargers' WR situation impacts rosters

Image
“Best” is one of the best words. It can mean many things. You can best an opponent. You might be the best man. Could be, you’re just second-best. You have best friends, you try to do your best. There is a best in show, lists of “best of …” If you’re near the top of such a list, you are among the best of the bests. If you’re No. 1, then the absolute best. If you’re not on a “bests” list, then maybe you’re just in company with the best of the rest. Such is the case with the available crop of Chargers wide receivers in Week 9. This week, Mike Williams will miss the first of an expected multi-game absence because of an ankle injury. And Keenan Allen reportedly suffered a setback during the week in his recovery from a hamstring injury that has sidelined him much of the season. That’s the top two WR options for quarterback Justin Herbert. Plus, one of the backup options, Jalen Guyton, is out for the season with a torn ACL. ...

Police arrest second teen in Brian Robinson shooting case

Image
A second teenager was arrested and charged with assault with intent to rob while armed in connection with the shooting of Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. in August, police said on Friday. Police made their first arrest on the same charge earlier in the week. The two suspects were 16 and 14 at the time the crime allegedly was committed.   The shooting happened Aug. 28 in northeast Washington, D.C., when the armed teens allegedly attempted to rob Robinson on the street. Robinson was shot in the leg twice and surveillance footage shows two suspects fleeing the scene without any stolen property, according to reports. “We greatly appreciate the diligent work of the detectives and MPD [Metropolitan Police Department],” Ryan Williams, Robinson’s NFL agent, wrote on Twitter. “Brian is grateful for all of the support and looks forward to great things ahead with the @Commanders.” Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. ...

Video reveals Alvin Kamara repeatedly punched man in Vegas fight

Image
First came the arrest of Alvin Kamara. Then the civil lawsuit against him. Now the video evidence . Kamara, the New Orleans Saints’ star running back, is seen throwing multiple punches at a man who is suing him for $10 million as fallout from a fight at a Las Vegas hotel earlier this year, as shown on video released by TMZ Sports. The punches knocked Darnell Greene to the ground and others who were with Kamara continued to kick and stomp him, the video shows. Greene alleged he was knocked unconscious after trying to get on an elevator – and being prevented from doing so – at The Cromwell Hotel and Casino with Kamara and his friends on Feb. 5. TMZ cited anonymous sources connected with Kamara claiming that Green became violent first, though that is not seen on the short surveillance footage. Kamara, who was in town to play in the 2022 Pro Bowl, faces a felony charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm and a misdemeanor count of conspiracy to co...

How Jets can produce The Perfect Game to beat mighty Bills

Image
Arguably the best team in the NFL, led by arguably the best quarterback in the NFL, will barge into MetLife Stadium on Sunday.  The Bills are 11.5-point favorites, not quite as much as the Baltimore Colts were over the Broadway Joe Jets in Super Bowl III, but you get the point. Even with the young Joe Namath at quarterback instead of Zach Wilson, the Jets would have been underdogs against this bunch.  But wait … in this NFL — a 2022 NFL that has been so uncharacteristically cruel to the likes of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers and the defending Super Bowl champion Rams — it is not impossible for anyone to dream the improbable dream on any given Sunday.  The Dolphins beat Josh Allen and the Bills at home in Week 3, so the Jets also can spring the upset by playing …  The Perfect Game. 1. It has to start with Zach Wilson playing The Perfect Game. That means resisting any temptation to engage Josh Allen in a shootout again...

SkyCam wire snap causes delay during Jets vs. Bills game

Image
The 13-point underdog Jets were hanging tight against the Bills, so it made sense that the sky was falling. With the Jets driving for a possible go-ahead score midway through the third quarter, the game entered a 12-minute delay because a wire holding the SkyCam for the CBS broadcast snapped and became a safety concern. When the reason for the inactivity was finally announced to the crowd at MetLife Stadium, a smattering of boos spread. To keep the fans engaged during the hiatus, the Jets’ entertainment staff brought out the T-shirt guns while two workers disassembled the wiring. The game continued without a sky camera. An issue with the SkyCam delayed a Jets drive during the third quarter against the Bills on Nov. 6, 2022. CBS Jets quarterback Zach Wilson is stopped by the Bills’ defense during the first half on Nov. 6, 2022. AP Some players from the Jets offense and Bills defense returned to the sideline and jogged to stay loose. The Jets’ soc...
