Erika Jayne says she was joking about PK, Dorit Kemsley breakup

Image
Erika Jayne is backtracking on her comments about Dorit and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s marriage. After PK shaded Jayne on Instagram for claiming his marriage was on the rocks, the “Pretty Mess” singer commented on his post claiming it was all in good fun. “When did you get so sensitive? You know damn well I was joking..” the reality star wrote. Erika Jayne claims she was joking about friends PK and Dorit Kemsley’s potential split. Instagram/theprettymess Over the weekend, Jayne predicted her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars would be the next Bravolebrities to divorce during a panel at BravoCon. After being asked which relationship was headed to “Splitsville,” the 51-year-old initially dodged the question, saying she felt “bad.” However, she quickly changed her tune and marched to centerstage before revealing “Dorit and PK.” PK and Dorit have both spoken out about Jayne’s comments. NYC commish Eric Ulrich resigns as criminal probe revealed

Image
New York City’s building commissioner resigned Thursday after it was revealed that he was under investigation and had turned his cellphone over as part of a criminal gambling probe. Eric Ulrich, 37, tendered his resignation to avoid “unnecessary distraction for the Adams administration,” said Fabien Levy, a rep for Mayor Eric Adams. “We have accepted his resignation, appreciate him taking this step, and wish him well,” Levy said. “We have no further knowledge of any investigation and, out of respect for his and his family’s privacy, have nothing further to add.” First Deputy Commissioner Kazimir Vilenchik will serve as acting commissioner and no services will be affected, Levy said. The resignation comes after the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office seized Ulrich’s phone on Tuesday and questioned him for more than two hours, sources previously told The Post. Ulrich, a Republican who served from 2009 until he was term-limited out last ye...

Hillary Clinton accuses GOP of using fear tactics at NYC Hochul rally

Image
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Republicans of using fear tactics to attract voters during a Manhattan rally for Gov. Kathy Hochul Thursday night. Clinton was joined by Vice President Kamala Harris as the two powerful Democrats put their weight behind Hochul, who has been losing ground to Republican rival Rep. Lee Zeldin in the final days of the governor’s race. “They don’t care about keeping you safe,” Clinton said of Republicans during the rally at Barnard College. “They want to keep you scared.” The former Democratic presidential candidate said the Republican Party ambushes New Yorkers with ads about crime using “scary pictures and scary music,” but offers no solutions to combat violence. “I see … ads about crime every 30 seconds,” Clinton said. “No solutions, but just a lot of really fearful, scary pictures and scary music.” She then invoked the hammer attack that left House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband hospitaliz...

Jewish group backs Lee Zeldin over 'failed' Gov. Kathy Hochul

Image
An influential Orthodox Jewish business group with a history of backing powerful New York Democrats is crossing party lines to endorse Rep. Lee Zeldin over Gov. Kathy Hochul in the race for governor. Saying Hochul “failed” to make key changes to New York’s controversial bail laws and reduce crime, Duvi Honig, CEO of the Wall Street-based Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, told The Post that New York needs a governor that exhibits an “unwavering stand on violent crime” — and Zeldin is the man for the job.  “Violent criminals endanger local businesses and institutions, jeopardize the lives and livelihoods of law-abiding individuals, and harm state and local economies and the sense of security all residents of New York need and deserve,” said Honig in his endorsement letter.  “Gov. Kathy Hochul has not risen to meet the urgency of the moment,” he wrote. Honig also said he was disturbed by Hochul’s refusal to call Albany lawmakers into a speci...

Zeldin won't let hecklers stop his anti-crime remarks at site of NYC rape

Image
Hecklers tried to disrupt a Friday appearance by Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin in Manhattan  — but their shouts failed to silence his anti-crime broadsides against Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul. During a news conference near the scene of the Thursday morning rape of a tourist jogging in Hudson River Park, Zeldin said, “It is important that we are doing everything in our power to make our streets and our subway safe.” “Now, unfortunately, Kathy Hochul doesn’t want to be here talking about these issues,” he said. “She wants to send her supporters to make sure that we aren’t talking about fighting crime.” Zeldin also blasted Hillary Clinton for accusing Republicans of trying to keep voters “scared” while she campaigned for Hochul with Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday night. In response to a question from The Post, Zeldin said Clinton and Hochul should be telling New Yorkers, “I understand your concerns. I want to do absol...

Indiana University student Ethan Williams' accused killer granted bail

Image
The Brooklyn man charged this week in the 2020 killing of Indiana college student Ethan Williams was granted bail Friday — in what the victim’s father blasted as an “unbelievable” decision by the judge. Judge Leigh Cheng ignored objections from prosecutors, who asked that William Freeman be locked up without bail, citing his lengthy criminal history and detailing evidence tying him to the fatal shooting — including a taped confession. The victim’s dad, Thomas Williams, told The Post he was in a state of “shock” after prosecutors told him his son’s accused killer had finally been arrested Thursday — and then was taken aback when he learned Cheng set a $350,000 bail for the suspect. “I don’t know that he has the money to make the bail, but apparently all of the buzz about killers being released to walk your streets freely in New York are true. Unbelievable,” Williams said following the hearing in Brooklyn Criminal Court. Freeman — who has nine...

Videos from inside the bodega obtained by The Post show the attacker lunging at the younger man and proceeding to brutally pummel him. As the brawl moves to the back of the store, the attacker, wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, pins down the victim, who struggles, knocks down a display case of snacks with his feet and kicks wildly at items lining a shelf. Raw sewage turned this Park Slope home into a poopy mess: lawsuit

Image
A Brooklyn homeowner claims the city left his pricey Park Slope pad a stinky mess when sewer construction went awry, sending human waste flooding into his basement, according to a lawsuit. Mark Roth, 45, says the crappy situation began the morning of Sept. 1, 2021, when the work in front of his $3.2 million 4th Street home somehow sent the sewage back into his drains. “As the day progressed, the problem got worse,” his lawyer, Thomas Tyrrell, said. That night, Hurricane Ida hit, and the software engineer’s basement ended up with 24 to 36 inches of foul fluid, Tyrell added. He spent more than $25,000 and a month renovating the basement of the 3,200-square-foot home, which includes four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Roth is suing the city and contractor ADC Construction for unspecified damages. https://www.tausiinsider.com/raw-sewage-turned-this-park-slope-home-into-a-poopy-mess-lawsuit/?feed_id=410378&_unique_id=6496c6a740082

Deputy NYPD chief praised for 'taking responsibility' in scandal

Image
The NYPD Saturday praised a Manhattan North precinct honcho who “took responsibility” for his subordinates’ actions in the on-duty drinking scandal at the Electric Zoo music festival. Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell and Chief James Essig tweeted a statement Saturday backing Deputy Chief Brian McGee, who oversaw the Manhattan North narcotics bureau where officers are under probe. At least three detectives were alleged to have swiped liquor and downed it at the Labor Day weekend music festival on Randall’s Island. Four plainclothes detectives worked all three days of the event and surveillance video shows them taking liquor bottles from a VIP tent and putting them in the trunk of their unmarked police car, sources said. A lieutenant was also caught stopping by and drinking, sources said. The situation unraveled when a concert worker asked who the detectives were and then called in uniformed officers, according to sources. At least...

East Harlem junkie haven thriving under cops' noses

Image
The free-for-all junkie haven in East Harlem was still operating in full force Sunday — with some NYPD cops simply looking the other way while zoned-out addicts tried to rob and harass locals in broad daylight. Saber Saifullah, who owns Pizza 2 Go on East 125th Street, told The Post the day after its expose on the open-air outrage that he had to personally shoo away an addict who tried to rob a 15-year-old girl outside the eatery Sunday — about 10 yards from a cop on patrol. “The cop is standing there, drug dealer is standing there,” Saifullah said.  “I’m here 20 years managing this, never like this,” he said of the out-of-control scene. “[The junkies] see the good people come here to buy, and they snatch the food, they snatch the money.” Another addict was seen pulling down his pants Sunday and shooting up right next to three NYPD squad cars, with no one intervening. Saifullah said the addicts are “not like humans” when they’re drugged ...
