Erika Jayne says she was joking about PK, Dorit Kemsley breakup

Image
Erika Jayne is backtracking on her comments about Dorit and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s marriage. After PK shaded Jayne on Instagram for claiming his marriage was on the rocks, the “Pretty Mess” singer commented on his post claiming it was all in good fun. “When did you get so sensitive? You know damn well I was joking..” the reality star wrote. Erika Jayne claims she was joking about friends PK and Dorit Kemsley’s potential split. Instagram/theprettymess Over the weekend, Jayne predicted her “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” co-stars would be the next Bravolebrities to divorce during a panel at BravoCon. After being asked which relationship was headed to “Splitsville,” the 51-year-old initially dodged the question, saying she felt “bad.” However, she quickly changed her tune and marched to centerstage before revealing “Dorit and PK.” PK and Dorit have both spoken out about Jayne’s comments. New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc victim of attempted assault before debate

Image
Republican New Hampshire Senate candidate Don Bolduc dodged a punch from a would-be assailant before stepping onstage to debate Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) on Wednesday,  according to reports.  Bolduc, 60, a retired Army brigadier general, was apparently unharmed, and the individual who attempted to assault the Senate candidate was arrested, according to his campaign.  “As the General said on stage tonight, it’s time to lower the temperature of the political discourse in this country. Prior to the debate, an individual in the crowd gathered outside attempted to punch the General and was quickly apprehended and arrested,” a Bolduc campaign spokesperson told Boston 25 News.  “We are grateful to the quick response from law enforcement on the scene,” the spokesperson added.  The Post has reached out to the Bolduc campaign and New Hampshire’s Goffstown Police Department for comment. Incumbent Senator Maggie Hassan leads Bolduc by slim margins ...

Albania's Prime Minister accuses Suella Braverman of 'fuelling xenophobia'

Image
Albania's Prime Minister today branded Britain a 'madhouse' and accused Suella Braverman of 'fuelling xenophobia by branding Channel crossings 'an invasion'. Edi Rama said the UK had been a beacon for the world in terms of integrating people arriving from abroad - but now claims it has a culture of 'finding scapegoats' during the migration crisis when 'failed policies' are to blame. It came as migrants were pictured performing Albania's controversial eagle gesture as they left the Manston arrival centre. Mr Rama said he was 'disgusted' by the Home Secretary's language in a combative Commons debate this week in which she claimed there is an 'invasion' of England by migrants crossing the Channel.  Ms Braverman has frequently singled out Albanian asylum seekers after their numbers crossing the Channel in small boats spiralled. She has also been considering negotiating a 'bespoke route' with the nation to get failed ...

Hillary Clinton accuses GOP of using fear tactics at NYC Hochul rally

Image
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton accused Republicans of using fear tactics to attract voters during a Manhattan rally for Gov. Kathy Hochul Thursday night. Clinton was joined by Vice President Kamala Harris as the two powerful Democrats put their weight behind Hochul, who has been losing ground to Republican rival Rep. Lee Zeldin in the final days of the governor’s race. “They don’t care about keeping you safe,” Clinton said of Republicans during the rally at Barnard College. “They want to keep you scared.” The former Democratic presidential candidate said the Republican Party ambushes New Yorkers with ads about crime using “scary pictures and scary music,” but offers no solutions to combat violence. “I see … ads about crime every 30 seconds,” Clinton said. “No solutions, but just a lot of really fearful, scary pictures and scary music.” She then invoked the hammer attack that left House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband hospitaliz...

Hochul denies crime's a problem but Hillary Clinton lets truth slip

Image
Hillary Clinton and Krazy Kat Hochul need to get on the same page concerning crime. Is it real, as Clinton seems to believe? Or is it, as Hochul has contended, an overblown campaign distraction — promoted by “master manipulators” and “data deniers” to derail her bid to become New York’s first elected female governor? Sisterly solidarity was the order of the day at Barnard College Thursday — with Hillary and Hochul standing shoulder-to-shoulder before a cheering, fully committed array of feminism-centric true believers. It was one of those late-campaign events where the hype is thick, where the rhetoric is hyperbolic and where the facts don’t really matter. How very odd, then, that Hillary let the truth peek through. Oh, for sure, the partisan newspeak was there — darkly threatening Republicans hide behind every tree in Hillaryland, and have for decades. But suddenly she slipped. “They don’t care about keeping you safe,” she said — they b...

Hochul, Albany would rather keep jails empty than let victims live

Image
Let’s get one thing straight. Keaira Bennefield would be alive today if her violent, predicate-felon estranged husband had been remanded after he savagely beat her inside her apartment a few days before he shot her. But he wasn’t remanded because Adam Bennefield caused only misdemeanor injuries and a judge could not set bail on him even though he had previously been convicted of a gunpoint kidnapping of two women and had served almost 15 years in state prison. Gov. Kathy Hochul either does not understand that or is afraid to anger the progressives in her party who wrote the disastrous bail reform laws that allowed this to happen. Either way, it’s pathetic. Hochul tried to blame the district attorney. But the DA leveled charges that were appropriate for the defendant’s actions at the time. Bennefield’s injuries were only misdemeanor injuries under New York law, although the experience was terrifying. Even if the DA had been able to raise the charges ...

Zeldin won't let hecklers stop his anti-crime remarks at site of NYC rape

Image
Hecklers tried to disrupt a Friday appearance by Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin in Manhattan  — but their shouts failed to silence his anti-crime broadsides against Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul. During a news conference near the scene of the Thursday morning rape of a tourist jogging in Hudson River Park, Zeldin said, “It is important that we are doing everything in our power to make our streets and our subway safe.” “Now, unfortunately, Kathy Hochul doesn’t want to be here talking about these issues,” he said. “She wants to send her supporters to make sure that we aren’t talking about fighting crime.” Zeldin also blasted Hillary Clinton for accusing Republicans of trying to keep voters “scared” while she campaigned for Hochul with Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday night. In response to a question from The Post, Zeldin said Clinton and Hochul should be telling New Yorkers, “I understand your concerns. I want to do absol...

Nancy Pelosi makes first on-camera remarks about Paul Pelosi hammer attack

Image
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) addressed her husband Paul’s condition in her first public appearance since an intruder broke into their San Francisco home and assaulted him with a hammer.  Pelosi provided an update on her husband’s condition during a Democratic Party fundraiser held over Zoom on Friday — and told attendees that going out and voting will make her feel better.  “Paul came home yesterday. That enables me to be at home with all of you. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your kind words, and your good wishes for Paul,” she said on the video call , which was shared on her social media accounts. The 82-year-old congresswoman added that her husband of 59 years will “be well” but faces a long recovery. Her voice cracked at times as she spoke about him. “It’s going to be a long haul, but he will be well. And, it’s just so tragic how it happened, but nonetheless, we have to be optimistic. He’s surrounded by family, so that’s a won...

NYC's Ruth's Chris Steak House stabbing leaves patron hurt, NYPD seek female attacker

Image
A woman having dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Manhattan stabbed a male patron in the chest after becoming enraged by his arguing with an employee Friday night, police said. The 24-year-old man began squabbling with a worker at the upmarket Midtown steakhouse just after 10 p.m. — and made such a scene that it disturbed diners sitting at nearby tables, including two women enjoying a meal together, according to cops. One of the ladies got up, approached the combative man and stabbed him, police said. She and her friend then fled on foot, heading east on West 51st Street. The man was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive. Police were looking for the alleged stabber, who was described as black with a light complexion and wearing a black jumpsuit. The woman accused of stabbing the man is still at large. Christopher Sadowski ...

Two injured in overnight NYC shootings, cops say

Image
Two women were shot outside a West Harlem public housing project overnight, police said. The victims, ages 35 and “around 19 or 20,” were both struck in the arm when gunfire erupted Friday at 11 p.m. in front of the Frederick E. Samuel apartments, a NYCHA building on West 147th St., cops said. The women were taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition, police said. Four men wearing black ski masks are wanted for the shootings. They were last seen heading eastbound on West 143rd Street, authorities said. The motive for the shooting is unknown, cops said. “We don’t know if they were targeted,” an NYPD spokesman said Saturday. Police do not have a motive for the shootings. Letters to the Editor — Nov. 5, 2022

Image
The Issue: Gov. Hochul’s response to rising crime in New York City and across the state. If my memory is correct, Gov. Hochul campaigned together with Hillary Clinton and Vice President Harris in her bid to keep her seat in Albany. The emphasis of Hochul’s campaign was abortion worries. On that same day, Carl Phanor allegedly assaulted, raped and robbed an innocent female jogger. (“Homeless rape menace,” Nov. 4). This should give everyone cause to reflect on how broken our criminal-justice system is. How insulting that Hochul denies crime is an issue in New York and spins out a new conspiracy theory about it. Martin Garfinkle Staten Island The unspeakable crime that occurred in Buffalo — the killing of Keaira Bennefield by her husband — and Hochul’s disgraceful reaction to it are two of the most utterly despicable things I have ever seen (“Gov’s blame excuse,” Nov. 3). For the governor to blame it on the system that she has suppo...
