Erika Jayne is backtracking on her comments about Dorit and Paul “PK” Kemsley’s marriage. Nick Lachey responds to former 'Love Is Blind' star's claim of show cutting out black women

Nick Lachey has addressed former “Love Is Blind” star Lauren Speed’s claims that the hit Netflix show is “cutting” out black women.

Hosted by power couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the show follows a group of single hopefuls who attempt to find love in the pods and get engaged sight unseen.

Now the 98 Degrees singer, 48, told Entertainment Tonight that Speed’s remarks were “a fair observation,” adding that he can “understand where she’s coming from with it.”

However, Lachey admitted he’s “not sure what exactly you can do about that except continue to cast with diversity, which they’ve done.”

Last month, Speed, who took part in the first season of the show, slammed producers after season 3 premiered on Netflix.

“I don’t like how LIB be cutting all the Black women. How come they are always in the trailer but not the show… 👀,” she tweeted.

She went on to allege that most relationships on the show are arranged for the camera by producers.

“I know it’s slim pickings but about 85% of them couples be forced (just moving forward for entertainment purposes) anyway. Y’all could at least force some more sisters to move forward throughout the show,” she wrote in a follow-up tweet.

Speed met her now-husband, Cameron Hamilton, on the show in 2020, and the pair are still married two years on.

When asked how producers determine which couples make the final cut, the Detroit native claimed that some couples who get engaged on the show aren’t even shown on TV.

“I think they only show what they deem most entertaining,” she said, adding that producers send them “home and stop filming them.”
