Cher doesn’t need to turn back time.
The “Believe” singer took to Twitter on Saturday to clap back at criticism over her and boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards’ 40-year age gap.
Cher, 76, defended her controversial new romance by posting a pixelated photo of her 36-year-old music executive beau.
“Alexander,” she captioned it, with a heart emoji.
The “Burlesque” star subsequently responded to several haters, one of whom felt “suspicious of [Edwards’] intentions” toward the singer.
“As we All Know …I WASNT BORN YESTERDAY,& What I Know For Sure…There Are No Guarantees,” the songwriter replied.

Elsewhere in her Twitter Q&A, the “Strong Enough” singer wrote, “I’m Not Defending Us. Haters are Gonna Hate…Doesn’t Matter That we’re Happy & Not Bothering Anyone.”
When another fan asked whether Edwards was her “new man,” Cher simply responded with a smiling emoji surrounded by red hearts.
The actress also revealed that “everyone” in her family has met Edwards and he has been treating her “like a [queen].”
The “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again” star went on to reveal that the romance began when she met the rapper at Paris Fashion Week, although the duo didn’t spark dating rumors until stepping out for dinner at Craig’s in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The pair were photographed holding hands as they entered the West Hollywood hot spot last week.
Edwards, who shares 3-year-old son Slash with ex Amber Rose, was even seen kissing Cher’s hand while riding in a car.

Rose, 39, and the Def Jam Recordings employee started dating in 2018 but called it quits after three years together when he admitted to being unfaithful with several women.
“I’m tired of getting cheated on and being embarrassed behind the scenes,” the model wrote via her Instagram Stories in August 2021. “All 12 of y’all bums (The ones that I know of there’s probably more) can have him.”
For her part, Cher was previously married to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975, followed by Gregg Allman from 1975 to 1979.
Prior to their splits, the Grammy winner welcomed sons Chaz, 53, and Elijah, 46, with Bono and Allman, respectively.
