‘Glee’s Mr. Schue Was Supposed to Be a Meth-Addicted Pedophile and Played By Justin Timberlake

Image
Today, Matthew Morrison is synonymous with William Schuster, the music-loving teacher at the center of Glee . But we almost got a very different version of this educator. On the first episode of the Glee podcast And That’s What You REALLY Missed , series co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy revealed the dark and surprising truth behind Mr. Schue. 2008 was an odd time for Murphy. The creator had one of the flashiest shows on cable with Nip/Tuck, but his passion project at the time, Pretty/Handsome , was not picked up by FX for fear that advertisers wouldn’t support a show about a transgender woman. As Murphy and Fox executive Dana Walden were brainstorming what Murphy’s next project would be, the producer was given a script written by Ian Brennan while he was at the gym. That script and Murphy’s own desire to write a musical became the starting point for Glee. “In Ian’s original script, it was a very dark comedy that had the idea of it,” Murphy said in the po

Paul Pelosi's attacker David DePape in US illegally on overstayed visa

Image
The man accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband with a hammer was in the country illegally, ICE sources told The Post Monday. David DePape, who was hit with federal and local charges Monday in the violent attack on 82-year-old Paul Pelosi, was in the US illegally because he overstayed his visa, according to sources. The 42-year-old suspect was born in Canada in 1980 and was in the US as early as 2001, sources said, citing his valid social security number that can only be obtained with a job. The social security number was obtained in Hawaii, sources said. It’s unclear how long DePape stayed in the country past the legal threshold. DePape faces charges from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and other criminal counts. He was also charged federally with attempted kidnapping and assault. Paul Pelosi was attacked when the suspect was looking for House Speaker Nanc

San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles residents leaving: report

Image
Restless residents of the country’s major coastal cities continue to eye the exits, according to a new study. A record number of homebuyers want to decamp to new metro areas — with New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles leading the charge, according to a report from real estate site Redfin. About 24% of all those shopping for houses sought digs in different cities in the third quarter of this year — a new all-time high, the study found. “With a recession looming and household expenses high, many people can’t afford to buy a home in an expensive area and/or want to save money in case of an emergency, which makes relocating somewhere more affordable an attractive option,” said Redfin Economics Research Lead Chen Zhao. The study examined how many users of the listings site looked to depart from a particular metro area rather than move in. San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York had the highest percentage of home searchers looking to move.

Chris Brown on “Dancing With the Stars?” He would “kill” it, according to Jordin Sparks. Following her elimination from the dance competition show Monday night, the singer told Tausi Insider that she would love to see the “King of R&B” compete for the mirrorball trophy one day. “To see him [dance] ballroom? And then he would do contemporary and he’d just – he’d kill everything. It would be amazing,” Sparks gushed, with her pro partner, Brandon Armstrong, agreeing. “You dance on tour, you’ve danced with some of my homies,” Armstrong added. “You’re a bad boy but come on. Let’s see you out in the ballroom floor. That would be nuts! That’d be nasty.” Other famous friends that Sparks said she would love to see in the ballroom include Chris Tucker – “he would be so good!” she raved – along with her “A Christmas Treasure” co-star Michael Xavier and his wife, Eddie Murphy’s 32-year-old daughter, Bria Murphy. Clinton demands Trump pay legal fees for racketeering lawsuit

Image
Hillary Clinton wants former President Donald Trump to fork over more than $1 million to pay her legal fees after a judge threw out his racketeering lawsuit against her in September.  Attorneys for the former Democratic presidential nominee filed a motion in a federal court on Monday asking the court to impose sanctions on Trump, calling the lawsuit that alleged Clinton and others engaged in a conspiracy to undermine his 2016 campaign with accusations of Russian collusion a “political stunt.” “A reasonable attorney would never have filed this suit, let alone continued to prosecute it after multiple Defendants’ motions to dismiss highlighted its fundamental and incurable defects,” Clinton’s attorneys wrote , according to the Hill.  The Clinton legal team is asking for $1.06 million from Trump to cover the legal expenses incurred by all the defendants named in his civil suit. The former president filed the civil suit in March, accusing Clinton

Kyrie Irving skips media as courtside fans hope to send Nets message

Circled in a controversy of his own making after promoting a link to an anti-Semitic film, Kyrie Irving was back in the Nets starting lineup Monday.  Steve Nash was vague when asked about the prospect of any disciplinary action. And The Post spoke with at least one fan who’d give up his season tickets if such action weren’t forthcoming.  Irving stirred up a controversy by sharing a link to a film titled ”Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America,” viewed as rampant with anti-Semitic and homophobic disinformation. He drew criticism from Nets owner Joe Tsai and the Anti-Defamation League, whose CEO spoke to Tsai personally.  A group of seven Orthodox Jews were seated courtside Monday, wearing “FIGHT ANTISEMITISM” T-shirts. They were ribbing Irving, who had 28 points, six assists and six rebounds, and got applause at pregame introductions that were loud if somewhat more muted than the usual roar.  Kyrie Irving inbounds the ball in front of fans

Maryland family buys prop casket, finds Edith Crews' ashes

Image
A Maryland family was shocked after discovering a casket they purchased as a prop for a Halloween party was holding a dead woman’s ashes and other belongings. The Wozniaks ordered the tin display casket on Facebook Marketplace and when they opened it up they found personal items belonging to a woman who was cremated after dying of COVID-19 in January. A photo of Edith Crews, her death certificate, a hospital bracelet she wore on her final days and an envelope containing what the Wozniaks believed to be the 74-year-old’s ashes were taped onto the cardboard bottom of the casket, Brooke Wozniak said in a viral TikTok video . Wozniak posted the video in hopes of finding Crews’ family so that she could return her belongings to them. “Everyone was in shock. And we didn’t really know how to feel about it,” Wozniak told Fox 5 Washington DC. “My first reaction was, we’ve got to find the family. We gotta find whoever the next of kin is or whoever kn

My husband had a heart attack and his stepmom is making things worse

Image
DEAR ABBY: I’m having a problem with my husband’s judgmental and narcissistic stepmom. She wasn’t nice to him or his siblings while they were growing up. My hubby recently had a heart attack. After I called to tell his dad and emailed his siblings, she got very upset with me because I didn’t give her the details first so she could disseminate the information. She also demanded to visit immediately after his surgery and got nasty with me on the phone when I told her she couldn’t come in with Dad because the hospital allowed only two visitors at a time. Now she won’t speak to me or answer emails. This isn’t the first time she has done this. She always looks for the worst and gives no grace. You can’t discuss anything with her because she gaslights and takes no responsibility. This affects my husband’s relationship with his elderly father, whom she poisons with her vitriol, especially regarding his children by his first wife. She do

Julien Gauthier made most of Rangers AHL assignment

Image
Julien Gauthier said he knew he had two options when he was assigned to AHL Hartford out of training camp at the start of October. He could either pout and work hard, the 25-year-old winger said, or work hard and try to earn the right to be the Rangers’ first recall . “I’m not really a quitter,” Gauthier said after assisting on Zac Jones’ game-winning goal and scoring one of his own in the Rangers’ 6-3 win over the Stars on Saturday afternoon. “I know I can play in the NHL, so I took on more of a mentality of getting more reps, getting more ice time and working on my game. I didn’t really pout or anything. I wanted to get back up here as soon as possible.” It appears the Rangers’ depth pool will be more of a factor this season, considering the slew of injuries the club has already dealt with through the first 10 games. That wasn’t the case last season, when the Rangers largely got away with hardly any recalls from the Wolf Pack due to good fortu
